Exterior Fabric Durability

All of our Oasis® fabrics are made with either PVC-coated fiberglass or Polyester to stand up to the elements outdoors. They are designed to be durable in spite of sun and moisture, and will last far longer than many fabrics in pre-made exterior shades.

Somfy Radio Motors and Controls

Somfy has been the international leader in motorization for outdoor shading systems for nearly 50 years. Insolroll’s Quiet Radio Motor (IQM-ACR) is a 110 V AC motor utilizing a 6 Newton Meter or 10 Newton Meter Somfy motor depending upon shade size.

5″ x 5 ½” Extruded Pocket

Can be recessed for a built-in shade appearance in some existing construction applications. Also offers a design alternative to the extruded Head Box.

Universal Shade Brackets

Insolroll’s heavy-duty aluminum Universal Shade Brackets are used in for all Oasis 2950 installations. For exposed roller applications, they can be used without a head box. They are also used for built-in pocket applications.

Built-in Shades for New Construction Applications

Site-built Pocket

Insolroll has developed an exposed bracket system for the installation of Oasis® 2950 shades into a site-built pocket in a new construction scenario. This can be done if you are building a new home, or a new patio structure. A recessed space, or “pocket” is built into the ceiling of the patio structure, and the Oasis® 2950 shade is installed on exposed brackets inside. When the shade is fully raised, it is completely out of sight.

• Shade access can be provided by removable access panel on bottom or front of pocket.*
• Available in White, Bronze, Tan, and Black standard colors; custom paint colors available.

*Shade access becomes more difficult with concealed side tracks and pocket application. Larger pocket depth is required to enable shade installation. There are many ways to detail shades into new construction.

How the Oasis® 2950 Patio Insect Shade Stops Insects

This innovative outdoor shade is engineered to block insect on all 4 sides of the shade. Each insect blocking system (top, bottom, and sides) is designed to work with the individual requirements of that portion of the shade. 

Specialized Fabrics for Insect Control

Our highly effective Oasis® 2950 system relies upon fabric design for effectiveness in blocking insects. Both offer outstanding view through, with 45% and 48% openness respectively.

• TuffScreen® Fabric- For small insects, specialized fabric with the very small apertures needed to stop gnats and small bugs.
• TuffScreen® NoSeeUm Fabric- For the tiny biting midge, with an aperture small enough to stop the culicoides genus of insect known as “NoSeeUms” that are particularly problematic in coastal Florida and the Caribbean.

Zipper-Captured Side Seals

Side Tracks capture the zipper edge of the shade fabric, keeping the shade taut and the edges sealed. Bugs can’t get in. Period.

• Uniquely designed to allow zipper insert and fabric to flex for longer life and smoother operation

• Flexes and compresses to seal uneven surfaces
• More effective than a bottom pile strip which will become permanently compressed over time

Sun Protection

The sun’s energy is experienced as heat, light, and UV (ultraviolet) rays. We feel heat, see light, and UV rays are damaging to our skin and eyes, as well as patio furniture and surfaces. Woven to control glare, heat, and UV rays with precise percentages of fabric openness, solar fabrics also stop even the tiniest insects. That openness affects the solar performance of the fabric, as does fabric color. Darker colored fabrics block more glare and offer clearer view-through, and lighter colors block more heat and offer more daytime privacy.
