Transcript

In this video, we will walk you through the steps to change or set the lower limit on a crank-operated patio shade. Follow along to ensure a smooth, damage-free process. Please note that manual crank shades are designed with a fixed lower limit only and do not have a set upper limit. To adjust the lower limit, you will need two people: one to operate the crank and one to handle the shade.

If applicable, start by removing the front cover of the headbox or extruded pocket to access the shade. Using the crank handle, lower the shade to your desired lower limit. At this point, one person will compress the shade toward the idler side to provide enough clearance to completely remove the square drive pin from the gear.

While the pin is removed and the shade is held in place, the other person will continue cranking the gear in the downward direction until it reaches its mechanical stop and cannot rotate any further. Once there, re-insert the drive pin into the gear. The lower limit is now set. Please note that manual crank operators do not have a set upper limit.  And that’s it. Thanks for watching.
