In this video, we will walk you through the steps to fix the tension on a cordless select roller shade. Follow along to ensure a smooth, damage-free process. For shades with fascia start by removing the fascia. To adjust the tension or fine-tune the speed of your shade, locate the adjustment wheel on the left side for regular roll shades or the right side for reverse roll shades. For a regular roll, rotate the wheel counterclockwise to add tension or clockwise to release it. For a reverse roll, rotate the wheel clockwise to add tension or counterclockwise to release it. Since the required tension depends on the size and weight of your fabric, periodically test the movement by pulling the shade down until it locks. A gentle downward tug on the bottom rail should then allow the shade to retract smoothly to the upper limit. While minor adjustments can be made while the shade is installed, if the spring has lost all tension, it is much faster to remove the shade from the brackets to rotate the wheel in larger increments.  To prevent the spring from losing tension when removing the shade, start by pulling the shade down one to two inches so it is not resting at the upper limit. It is highly recommended that you reinstall the red tension clip onto the head of the spring before proceeding. From there, gently lift the tab on the plastic operator mounting clip—using a flat-head screwdriver for inside mount applications. Use extreme caution not to bend the tab too far, as breaking this clip will require a full replacement of the operator. Once the tab is lifted, carefully slide the operator out of the bracket to complete the removal. And that’s it. Thanks for watching. For more information and videos, visit insolroll.com.
