Commercial exterior shades are becoming very popular, with restaurants offering more exterior dining experiences, and businesses and hotels offering guests and employees outdoor spaces to relax. Overhead door applications: Use of overhead doors, or “garage doors” in restaurants and breweries has increased tremendously in recent years. Doors either enclose a dedicated patio dining area or open up on an outside wall to let light and air in. Oasis 2900 is fully retractable to provide the versatility restaurants with additional outdoor seating need, so shade can be partially lowered to provide sun protection only, or fully lowered to keep mosquitoes and other insects out.
Covered patio applications: Because of zipper-captured fabric edges, Oasis 2900 shades can protect diners, employees, or guests on a covered patio, balcony or deck. In locations where evening insects are a nuisance, Oasis 2900 can create comfortable spaces out of areas that were previously unusable in the evening. They can then be fully or partially retracted during daylight hours when insects are not a problem.
Oasis 2900 Fabrics (click to view): Choose from insect fabric, with small or extra-small apertures suitable for Florida No-see-ums, Solar Fabrics, which block both sun and insects, or translucent fabrics that allow filtered light without view-through for enhanced privacy and enclosure applications.

Oasis 2800 Patio Shades
Where glare, heat and UV rays from the sun are a problem, but insects aren’t, Oasis 2800 Patio Shades provide comfort, shade, and protection. Outdoor areas facing west or south can be very uncomfortable for guests and employees when the sun is setting. The same is true for breakfast areas facing east in the early morning hours. For new construction, Oasis 2800’s built-in option allows the shade to be virtually invisible when retracted.
Sun Protection: Oasis 2800 Patio Shades provide for covered patios and outdoor living areas, balconies, decks, pergolas and other structures. Solar Fabrics provide glare and heat reduction and stop up to 99% of harmful UV rays, in a range of fabrics from 1% openness to 12% openness. Providing shade, glare reduction, and comfort allows restaurants to utilize their full seating capacity when weather allows.
Sun Protection with Privacy: Translucent fabrics provide sun protection with no view-through. For locations without an agreeable view for patrons, this may be the right choice. This also provides light filtering and UV protection.
Golf Ball Protection: Golf course bars, restaurants and clubs can use Oasis 2800 to provide protection from golf balls without blocking patrons’ views. (View a video demonstration.) For restaurant patios facing busy streets, lighter colored fabrics will provide enhanced privacy from passers-by and road traffic. Darker fabrics will provide enhanced daytime privacy to a somewhat lesser degree—even while providing the clearest view-through for diners, the view to the inside from the street will be reduced.
